The mission of the Women in Global Heath Research Initiative is to create and sustain a pipeline of female researchers and leaders in global health. We identify and implement solutions to major gender-based obstacles that prevent women from achieving leadership positions in global health research. The Women in Global Health Research Initiative has identified four main gender-based challenges including: difficulties balancing career and personal life, lack of mentorship, health and safety concerns, and limited research training and leadership development. We will also have a session dedicated to established policies and programs developed around the world to retain women in global health research careers.
