Protecting Your Skin from the Sun

Why is it so important to protect our skin from the sun?  What is photo-aging?  Why is the sun so damaging?  How safe are tanning beds?  How can we best protect ourselves from the harmful effects of the sun"?  How can we select the best sunscreen?  What's the best way to apply sunscreen?  Are there other methods of protection against skin cancer and photo-aging?  What about Vitamin D?  Why are some sunscreens controversial?  Dr. Tatyana Petukhova will answer these questions and more.  She specializes in cutaneous oncology and procedural dermatology, including Mohs micrographic surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology.  Dr. Petukhova is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Weill Cornell and has conducted considerable research, published in various professional publications.
