The newly launched Physician Scientist Joint Seminar Series, a joint effort by the Departments of Medicine, Pathology, and Pediatrics, is a virtual seminar features outstanding physician-scientist faculty in the Departments of Medicine, Pathology, and Pediatrics and at the Tri-I, who will showcase their translational research.

Two faculty members will present their work on Wednesdays at noon every first and third week of the month. The goal of this series is to provide a framework for a collaborative research network among physicians and trainees involved or interested in patient-based research, as well as represent an educational resource for all physician-scientist trainees, but especially those enrolled in the Medicine, Pathology, and Pediatrics Physician Scientist Programs. This endeavor will provide a rich resource for research which we hope will lead to collaborative projects, grants and publications for trainees involving patient-related studies.

On December 7th, Dr. Virginia Pascual will present, "Understanding pediatric inflammatory diseases through patient-oriented studies." Dr. Anna S. Nam will present, "Type 1 interferon signaling and regulatory networks in human normal and neoplastic hematopoiesis."
