Diabetes: Current & Future Treatments

Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S.

Join us for a talk exploring diabetes and its current and future treatments during the Weill Cornell Medicine Wellness Series.

Samuel Sultan, M.D., an assistant professor of surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine in the Division of Transplantation Surgery, is board-certified in general surgery and specializes in abdominal transplant surgery, with a specific clinical focus on kidney and pancreas transplantation.

The transplant program at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, particularly involving living donor kidneys, has played a leading role in the field for many years. Dr. Sultan hopes to contribute to this program and further develop it with his focus on the optimal use of deceased donor transplants, particularly for pancreas and islet cell transplantation.

"An integral part of my practice involves thoughtfully understanding a patient’s particular situation and tailoring their therapeutic approach accordingly."
