If so, we invite you to participate in the Accelerating BioVenture Innovation (ABI) course this fall. ABI is a 15-week course that brings together interdisciplinary teams to develop commercialization plans around patented, unlicensed technologies from WCM and neighboring institutions. Teams are matched with industry mentors as well as MBA students and/or graduates. The commercialization plans take the form of investor pitches and are presented to a panel of venture capitalists and industry leaders in a final pitch contest at the end of the semester.

Whether you already have a product idea or are simply curious about innovation and entrepreneurship, now is the time to gain hands-on experience. Participants develop a practical understanding of the commercialization process for academic inventions and engage directly with real-world, patented life science inventions. The course attracts graduate students, postdocs, and other trainees from the Tri-I community, Cornell Tech, and Upper East Side hospitals. It is a great way to network with like-minded individuals across the ecosystem and be introduced to industry representatives that could be helpful as you advance in your career.

In these classes, you’ll learn about patterns we all hold because of muscles that have become chronically tight. These patterns can make your daily movements more difficult, cause you pain in your body, and even affect your balance. Together, we will explore Hanna Somatic Exercises you can do to get out of pain and regain ease and joy in your movements.

These movements are often done lying on the floor and can also be done from a chair. All you need is yourself. Hanna Somatic Education is a safe, gentle, and intuitive approach to relaxing tight and painful muscles.

You may join us for a single class or multiple classes. Some experience in Hannah Somatic Education is preferred but not mandatory. Please explore the introductory course if you are new to the practice.

In the session you will be listening to the instructions for the movement you are invited to do and then doing your version of the movement. This is different from watching someone do something and copying them. It’s a very special way of practicing that allows you to discover the best possible version of the movement for you.

The program is focused on augmenting physicians’ and advance practice providers’ communication skills by providing practice, coaching, and directed feedback through simulated exercises as well as didactics highlighting evidence-based communication skills.

Studies show that effective communication enhances patients’ health outcomes, satisfaction with their care, and trust. At the same time, it heightens providers’ satisfaction with their work, reduces burnout, and mitigates malpractice risks.

This talk will focus on the arc from using longitudinal clinical data to generate real-world evidence, through predictive and generative AI, to agentic systems capable of acting across electronic health records, payer portals, and other operational infrastructure. Drawing on experience building Green Button, FURM, MedHELM, ChatEHR, and HealthAdminBench, Dr. Shah will review approaches to evaluation, governance, prospective deployment, and post-deployment monitoring. The goal is to create trustworthy systems that preserve human agency, recognize their limits, and deliver measurable improvements in patient care and healthcare operations.

What works for one person does not work for someone else--that's because we have different metabolisms. Instead of focusing on calories, different diets, or exercise routines, it is more important to know what your metabolism is doing. Based on that, you can pick the foods that work best for you.

During this 4-week journey led by Dr. Chiti Parikh, all participants will wear a continuous glucose monitor to gain better insight into their metabolism. Each week will have specific instructions on using that information while optimizing your diet, sleep, exercise, and stress management routine.

This session is a good fit for anyone looking to optimize their weight or address prediabetes or early diabetes.

Pre-requisite:

A visit with our clinical team will be scheduled where baseline lab tests, body composition and resting metabolic rate testing will be conducted. This will help you understand how your metabolism is functioning right now and we will be able to track progress over time.

We will also review different glucose monitors and apps that will suit your unique needs. Over the counter glucose monitors cost $89 for 1 month supply if your insurance does not cover them.

The Relationship-Centered Communication Workshop is a live virtual workshop led by NYP/CU/WCM physicians trained by the Academy of Communication in Healthcare (ACH). The program is focused on augmenting physicians’ and advance practice providers’ communication skills by providing practice, coaching, and directed feedback through simulated exercises as well as didactics highlighting evidence-based communication skills.

Studies show that effective communication enhances patients’ health outcomes, satisfaction with their care, and trust. At the same time, it heightens providers’ satisfaction with their work, reduces burnout, and mitigates malpractice risks.

Abstract for “Precision High-throughput Drug Screening in 3D Glioma Cerebral Organoids”

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), the most common primary malignant brain tumor in adults, remains incurable despite extensive research and clinical efforts. The use of preclinical models that fail to accurately replicate the biological complexity of human disease for drug screening has been suggested as a contributing factor to our inability to identify clinically effective drugs for GBM. Our lab has developed the cerebral organoid glioma (GLICO) model, a co-culture of human cerebral organoids and patient-derived glioma stem cells (GSCs). The GLICO model better recapitulates the human GBM microenvironment and intratumor heterogeneity, making it a promising model for improved drug screening.

The use of the GLICO model as a novel patient-specific drug screening assay will rely on developing tools to precisely assess tumor cell viability in real-time and at multiple time points within a normal cerebral organoid (CO) without disrupting the organoid. Traditional in vitro tumor organoid viability assays, however, fail to distinguish between cell populations and are endpoint-destructive, preventing analysis of tumor response over time.

To address these limitations, we present a novel, non-destructive, and automatable luminescence-based tumor tracking system compatible with both cell-autonomous and co-culture 3D tumor models. Our system detected drug responses in both GSCs and GLICOs with high reproducibility across manual and high-throughput settings. Notably, GSCs exhibited differential responses to the same treatments in GSCs versus GLICOs, underscoring the significance of integrating more physiologically relevant 3D organoid models into drug screening.

Our platform provides a novel, sensitive, and robust tumor tracking platform, enabling real-time, non-destructive measurement of GSC viability within the clinically relevant GLICO model, improving the predictive value of drug screening and precision medicine for GBM.

Abstract for “Identifying Selective Therapeutic Combinations for Ovarian Cancer High Throughput Drug Screening and Multi-Omic Integration”

Ovarian cancer remains a therapeutic challenge due to rapid development of treatment resistance andlimited alternative options when standard-of-care therapies fail. High-throughput drug screening provides a powerful approach to systematically identify novel agents with selective activity against tumor cells. Our work leverages functional drug-response profiling across a genetically diverse panel of patient-derived organoid models to identify tumor-selective agents while simultaneously assessing potential off-target toxicity. Using the Kinome Library, we comprehensively screen for functional kinase dependencies across these diverse models, revealing that ovarian cancers specific dependencies.

To develop rational multi-agent combinations, we integrate ReFLEX multi-omic analysis to map drug-induced adaptive signaling and identify complementary therapeutic regimens. By combining functional screening with multi-omic insights, we construct evidence-based drug combinations targeting interconnected pathways, maximizing efficacy while aiming to minimize toxicity and resistance emergence. This integrated screening approach establishes a scalable platform for discovering selective therapeutics and rationally designing combination regimens.

Pre-requisite:

A visit with our clinical team will be scheduled where baseline lab tests, body composition and resting metabolic rate testing will be conducted. This will help you understand how your metabolism is functioning right now and we will be able to track progress over time.

We will also review different glucose monitors and apps that will suit your unique needs. Over the counter glucose monitors cost $89 for 1 month supply if your insurance does not cover them.

In these classes, you’ll learn about patterns we all hold because of muscles that have become chronically tight. These patterns can make your daily movements more difficult, cause you pain in your body, and even affect your balance. Together, we will explore Hanna Somatic Exercises you can do to get out of pain and regain ease and joy in your movements.

These movements are often done lying on the floor and can also be done from a chair. All you need is yourself. Hanna Somatic Education is a safe, gentle, and intuitive approach to relaxing tight and painful muscles.

You may join us for a single class or multiple classes. Some experience in Hannah Somatic Education is preferred but not mandatory. Please explore the introductory course if you are new to the practice.

What works for one person does not work for someone else--that's because we have different metabolisms. Instead of focusing on calories, different diets, or exercise routines, it is more important to know what your metabolism is doing. Based on that, you can pick the foods that work best for you.

During this 4-week journey led by Dr. Chiti Parikh, all participants will wear a continuous glucose monitor to gain better insight into their metabolism. Each week will have specific instructions on using that information while optimizing your diet, sleep, exercise, and stress management routine.

This session is a good fit for anyone looking to optimize their weight or address prediabetes or early diabetes.

Pre-requisite:

A visit with our clinical team will be scheduled where baseline lab tests, body composition and resting metabolic rate testing will be conducted. This will help you understand how your metabolism is functioning right now and we will be able to track progress over time.

We will also review different glucose monitors and apps that will suit your unique needs. Over the counter glucose monitors cost $89 for 1 month supply if your insurance does not cover them.

In this class, you'll learn about common movement patterns and areas of tension that can develop following breast cancer treatment and surgery. Changes in posture, scar tissue, muscle tightness, and protective movement habits can make everyday activities more difficult, contribute to discomfort in the neck, shoulders, chest, and upper back, and limit your range of motion and confidence in movement.

Together, we will explore gentle, restorative exercises designed to support recovery, improve mobility, reduce stiffness, and help you reconnect with your body. Through mindful movement, breathing practices, and body awareness techniques, you'll discover ways to release unnecessary tension, improve comfort, and restore greater ease in your daily activities. These practices can also help promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support overall well-being during your recovery journey.

Written exercise guides will be provided to help you continue your practice at home, and video and audio resources will also be available for your convenience. The movements we explore are gentle, adaptable, and accessible to individuals at various stages of recovery. Many exercises can be performed lying down, sitting in a chair, or standing, depending on your comfort and needs. All you need is yourself and a willingness to move with curiosity and compassion. This class provides a safe and supportive environment to help you regain mobility, build confidence, and rediscover comfort and ease in your body.

In these classes, you’ll learn about patterns we all hold because of muscles that have become chronically tight. These patterns can make your daily movements more difficult, cause you pain in your body, and even affect your balance. Together, we will explore Hanna Somatic Exercises you can do to get out of pain and regain ease and joy in your movements.

These movements are often done lying on the floor and can also be done from a chair. All you need is yourself. Hanna Somatic Education is a safe, gentle, and intuitive approach to relaxing tight and painful muscles.

You may join us for a single class or multiple classes. Some experience in Hannah Somatic Education is preferred but not mandatory. Please explore the introductory course if you are new to the practice.

In these classes, you’ll learn about patterns we all hold because of muscles that have become chronically tight. These patterns can make your daily movements more difficult, cause you pain in your body, and even affect your balance. Together, we will explore Hanna Somatic Exercises you can do to get out of pain and regain ease and joy in your movements.

These movements are often done lying on the floor and can also be done from a chair. All you need is yourself. Hanna Somatic Education is a safe, gentle, and intuitive approach to relaxing tight and painful muscles.

You may join us for a single class or multiple classes. Some experience in Hannah Somatic Education is preferred but not mandatory. Please explore the introductory course if you are new to the practice.
