World Thrombosis Day: Keep Blood Flowing

We will be hosting our World Thrombosis Day event on Friday, October 13th at the Griffis Faculty Club located at 521 East 68th Street, New York, NY 10065. The event, entitled “Keep Blood Flowing,” is aimed to enhance awareness of blood clots among patients, healthcare professionals, and the community.

We will have hematologists, oncologists, nutritionists, gynecologists, intervention radiologists and nurse practitioners presenting and leading an expert panel for attendees to ask questions.

Specific topics that will be addressed during the presentations and expert panel include: risk factors and symptoms of blood clots, raising awareness, prevention and treatment of thrombosis.

Some patients who were treated at WCM/NYP will also share their story and provide education to attendees highlighting that venous thromboembolism (VTE) can happen to anyone.

Special workshops will offer expert insights and demonstrations on the signs and symptoms of thrombosis, exercises and nutritional guidance.

Educational materials will be distributed to attendees, including information about open WCM/NYP clinical trials and fact sheets about thrombosis.
