What To Do About Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction?

Bowel and/or bladder incontinence is a problem that many adults face, ranging from a problem of leakage to a full loss of control.

The causes of incontinence vary, from mild infection to brain/nerve problems, injuries and — in men — enlarged prostate glands.

The risk of falls in the bathroom and falls while rushing to the bathroom increases with incontinence, particularly among an older population. But there  are strategies and exercises that can help combat the problem of incontinence.

Physical Therapist Kate Fishman will discuss techniques that can help you cope with this inconvenient condition.  She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Columbia University  and works in New York- Presbyterian’s Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.
