WCM Wellness Series with the New York Public Library: Caring for the Caregiver

Want to learn more about caring for caregivers?

Come join us for a talk on Caring for the Caregiver during the Weill Cornell Medicine Wellness Seminar at the 53rd Street Library.

Nimali Jayasinghe, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in a private practice in New York City, and is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology at Weill Cornell Medicine, on the volunteer faculty. Her clinical focus is on how people can flourish when faced with the challenges of aging, chronic illness or trauma.

She has a particular interest in 'cognitive' therapies, therapies that emphasize cultivating a resilient mindset, 'mindfulness' approaches, approaches that encourage cultivating the ability to remain grounded within difficult circumstances and 'behavioral' approaches, that explore finding practical solutions to stressful situations.

Dr. Jayasinghe is a scientist-practitioner who focuses on evidence-based therapies; she recently completed a five-year National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)-funded mentored research career award that explored the impact of falls in later life.
