The board of the Readers and Writers Series, a series established to broaden medical students' access to humanities through literature, invites you to an evening with famed author Andrew Solomon.
Andrew Solomon is a renowned writer on culture and politics whose most recent award winning book, "Far from the Tree: Parents, Children, and the Search for Identity," is a New York Times best seller. The book tells the story of exceptional children with issues as diverse as autism, genius, transgender identity, deafness, and schizophrenia. These families not only learn to cope with their children's sturggles but also find profound meaning in doing so.
Solomon's prior book, "The Noonday Demon," was excerpted in the New Yorker and went on to win the National Book Award. It has been published in 22 languages.
The talk will be followed by refreshments in the LC Corridor
