Kidney Transplantation: One Size Does NOT Fit All

What are the leading causes of kidney disease?  Why do some people suffer from renal failure?  If you or anyone you know is suffering from this common condition, you might especially want to learn about kidney transplants.  What are the options and when does a transplant make sense?  What is the process?  Dr. Samuel Sultan is board-certified in surgery, specializing in kidney, pancreas, and liver transplantation.  He is also actively involved in clinical research.  Dr. Sultan's research interests include the use of organs from donors with hepatitis C and beta-cell replacement therapy, using both pancreas and islet-cell transplants.
