Guest Speaker Series: Phil Crowley, Former Assistant General Counsel, Johnson & Johnson; Biotech Startup Consultant

Phil is a veteran of 32 years at Johnson & Johnson serving as Assistant General Counsel where he handled mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial work, licensing and other complex agreements. Phil is now focused on helping startup emerging technology and biotechnology companies become more successful. Phil is also a member of the board of directors of Shine Analytics Limited, an Irish startup with an innovative software-as-a-service platform for in-house counsel and an officer of its U.S. affiliate.

Phil has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Stevens Institute of Technology since 1993 and has worked for many years on the Research Enterprise and Technology Commercialization Committee of the Board. This is the committee focused on stimulating academic innovation and converting appropriate technologies into commercializable products. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Phil was in private law practice in New York in the mergers and acquisitions and securities law areas.

Phil holds a B.S. in Physics from Stevens Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Applied Physics from Harvard University and a J.D. from the Columbia Law School.
