Join students, faculty and staff on our campus and millions of people around the world and #ChangeClimateChange! Spread the word and take part in Earth Hour, the annual symbolic lights out event from 8:30 to 9:30 PM local time.
Earth Hour is an initiative by WWF to create awareness about climate change and the power of individuals to create a tangible positive impact on the planet. Weill Cornell Medicine is joining this event for the ninth year in a row; and will be doing a work-day version of Earth Hour on Thursday, May 30, 2017.
EarthHour 2017 is a special milestone as it marks the 10th anniversary of this annual grassroots event. Over its history, EarthHour has created awareness across the world and inspired countless individuals to do their part towards creating a sustainable planet for future generations.
You can celebrate Earth Hour at home, invite your friends over for a "black-out party" or join events in our area and share your pictures and experiences with us!
Please feel free to post pictures and updates during Earth Hour and Unpower Hour to the WCM Sustainability Facebook page, using the hashtags #WCMSustainability and #UnpowerHour- and check for live updates from other Green Leaders and participants as well!
