Caring for your Skin and Preventing Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. The two most common types are basal cell cancer and squamous cell cancer. They usually form on the head, face, neck, hands, and arms. Melanoma, a third type of skin cancer, is more dangerous but less common. Join us to learn more from Dr. Kira Minkis, an award-winning member of the NYP/WCM team, who specializes in the treatment and prevention of skin cancer. Dr. Minkis will offer insights into solar hygiene and techniques for taking care of your skin. Who might be especially susceptible to developing skin cancer? How can you minimize your risk of developing the condition?
